The Ngati Tama were a people of high regard. They had a lineage that dated back as far as the ancient of days. They wore the mantle of the land with pride, dignity and respect. They were known throughout the land as warrior Priests, guardians of the spiritual and natural world, protectors of the land and slayers of Taniwha.

Here, Te Haa and his son Uitara had perfected the art of the warrior sect and a select few were to join them in the forest of Tawa as they forged a new level of integration with the surrounding environment.

It is here where traditions and protocol surrounding a living village where formed to protect the families against enemies of greed and dictatorship. It is here at this time also that a people where formed who would later bear the name Maori for many generations to come.
